What is Protrack?
"Protrack" serves as Wildwood Dance and Arts curriculum based program for students that are professionally minded in dance and performance fields. By participating in the protrack program students better prepare themselves for real world performance opportunities, entertainment fields, and collegiate studies. The "Protrack" program requires that the students audition for placement each year, maintain technique leveled courses in Ballet and Jazz, and participate in our nonprofit student based dance production company, Danse Arts Company (DAC). Protrack offers students an opportunity to perform in a nurturing environment that not only offers a place to grow as a dancer and performer, and build self-esteem, but focuses on professional training first and foremost! Under the guidance of Artistic Director, Leah Cordiano-Siemens, and Assistant Artistic Director, Katie McMasters, our mission is to provide a supportive environment for the serious dancer to broaden their skills and offer artistic excellence to the dance community at large.
Our pre-professional dance company, formed in 2006, provides quality artistic performances to the community in a variety of ways. They provide 2 full length dance productions per year; the annual "Winter Extravaganza" (collaboration and profit sharing with the Chesterfield Community Theatre-West County YMCA), and an annual Spring Show; such as "Diaries of a Dancer" 2007, "Seasons on Stage" 2008, and this coming year "Peter Pan" on May 16, 2009. They also have opportunities like performing at the SAVVIS Center for St. Louis Steamers on Feb. 20, 2006, and at showcases such as; West Coast Dance Explosion in 2008 and PULSE Tour in 2009. The Danse Arts Company (DAC) is devoted to providing performance opportunities that build character and confidence. Our students can carry these experiences with them throughout their professional lives.
Wildwood Dance and Arts, and the Danse Arts Company, is committed to giving back to its community through performance and education. Throughout the years DAC has performed for Girl Scout Events; father/daughter and mother/daughter dances, "World Thinking Day", fulfilling badge requirements, and day camp activities teaching a variety of dances (ex: hula, hip hop), Teaching at local schools; a day of PE at Babler Elementary and Green Pines Elementary, and performing at local fairs and parades; Art in the Park 2005, Creve Ceour Parade 2005, Ballwin Days 2006-present, Wildwood Days/Celebration 2005-present, and Eureka Days 2007-present.
Students, during the past several years, were admitted and often awarded scholarships to prestigious summer programs and winter performances with the Joffrey Ballet, Moscow Ballet, St. Louis Ballet, Blue Lake Fine Arts, and school musicals and plays.
