Acrobatic Class Level 1- This class is for the beginner and will begin working on the fundamentals of acrobatics. Athletes will begin learning the basic skills such as forward/backward rolls, backbends, handstands, cartwheels and round offs. A strong foundation in proper technique is emphasized as well as work on flexibility and conditioning.
Acrobatic Class Level 2- This class will continue working the basics while adding the next level of skills. Athletes will begin working skills such as limbers, walkovers, one hand cartwheels, and power round offs. An emphasis on proper technique is taught and athletes are expected to have an understanding of body placement. Individual flexibility and conditioning will be an essential part of the class.
Acrobatic Class Level 3- This class is for the intermediate level athlete whom is able to do a backbend come up, handstand roll down, one handed cartwheel and round off unassisted. While continuing to work proper technique, athletes will learn how to execute such skills as arabians, valdez, corbets, back extension rolls, front handsprings, and back handsprings. A continuation of individual flexibility and conditioning will be an essential part of the weekly class.
Acrobatic Class Level 4-This class is for the advance athlete. Athletes in Acro 4 are expected to execute limbers, walkovers, arabians, multiple types of handstands and tumbling unassisted. Athletes will continue to work limber and tumbling skills while adding layers of difficulty to each skill. Handstand pirouette, switching walkovers, multiple back handsprings, and aerials are a few examples of skills that will be worked on in this class.
