Dexter Bishop joins Wildwood Dance & Arts staff as a guest teacher from the Missouri Ballet Theatre company. He has exstensive experience teaching and working with young dancers and performers. He continues to work with schools from his hometown and guest performances as well. He served as our Snow King in our DAC Winter Extravaganza 2010, and we look forward to many years agao. Dexter brings a wonderful energy and pizazz to his classes that make them fun and enjoyable for the students. He currently teaches Jazz III on Wednesday nights.
Mr. Bishop joins Missouri Ballet Theatre after recently graduating from Oklahoma City University with a B.A. in Dance. He perfromed thoughout Taiwan while under the auspices of the Dance Department of OCU. He hails from Clinton, Mississippi where he received his early training under Jennifer Beasley, Artistic Director of Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet. Dexter has attended the Nashville Ballet and Kansas City Ballet Summer Programs under scholarship as well as performing in the 2007 Rose Parade and the 2003 Miss Mississippi Pageant. As a former member of the award winning show choir "Attache" he is in demand as a choreographer and has set pieces on the Clinton High School show choir as well as the Brandon Elementary and Middle Schools show choirs.
