This is at the discretion of the director. *Three unexcused absences may lead to the removal of the production company Attire: Students are required to wear appropriate clothing to rehearsal class. Below are the only acceptable options: Leotard, tights, jazz pants or skirt, and appropriate dance shoes. Jazz pants, dance top, appropriate dance shoes Baggy shirts and pants are not allowed. This is to ensure that instructors can see each student’s body move to help perfect technique and prevent injury. Students not prepared with appropriate clothing may be asked not to participate and will result in an unexcused absence. Performances: Every performance is required unless excused in advance. Absences must be submitted in writing as soon as possible. A calendar will be given and updated often. We conduct two regularly scheduled annual productions per year, several community festivals, and some Girl Scout and other community events. Tuition for classes and rehearsals is due by the 1st of each month. Failure to pay may result in removal from the production company. Conduct: Positive attitudes are encouraged and poor attitudes are not tolerated. A dancer may be suspended from participation if their conduct becomes a distraction to their fellow company members and teachers. One warning will be given to the dancer and the parent before suspension. Audition Specifics Auditions are scored by qualified judges from within the studio teaching staff and the professional community. Judges will be looking for technique, work ethic, and showmanship. Specific criteria are laid out in the judging form available on the website. Students already attending Wildwood Dance & Arts must have each instructor fill out a student evaluation sheet prior to auditions. The scores from these evaluations factor into the final score for each student. Evaluation sheets are available at the front desk and from the website. The Audition and Participation Contract must be signed by both students and parents and turned in prior to auditions. Students are required to fill out a registration form prior to entry to auditions, at which time they be given an audition number.
